Change is really a fundamental principle of life—whether or not you’re ready for it change will happen!!! Change can be positive—learning to better communicate with those around us. Change can be unwanted—the loss of a loved one. Change—both positive and negative—can create a multitude of feelings and challenges. It’s how we manage change—as human beings—that brings about growth.
That is what therapy is about.
I can work with you to articulate and understand the challenges you face—sometimes those might be clear and at other times you might be so close to the problem you can’t see the challenge before you. We can process and explore your current challenges and then work to identify realistic, attainable goals that will help refocus your energy in a positive direction. Sometimes our past experiences provide the appropriate tools for managing life’s changes—and sometimes those tools may not get the job done and might make things worse. We’ll strengthen skills you already have—and where appropriate provide you with new tools.
My job is to help you become aware, help you to understand, help you develop a plan with the tools to accomplish the plan, and then help you reinforce and stick to that plan.
